App operator
UnGo and getungo.app are operated by Buronov Jonibek. Contact: support@getungo.app. This document was updated on 2026-10-16.
Data on your phone
Practice results, saved questions, appearance preferences, congratulations marks and the last 100 notifications are stored on this phone. Practice results and congratulations marks are not sent to the server. Uninstalling the app or clearing its data may remove local data.
Usage analytics
App opens, viewed sections, onboarding completion, and study starts, resumptions and completions are sent to PostHog’s US service. Events include the app version and build number, platform, interface and question languages, study mode and question count. A separate random PostHog ID is stored on your phone; it is not linked to the device identifier on our server. Names or nicknames, answers, scores, saved questions, license status, GPS and push tokens are not sent. Screens are not recorded and IP-based location lookup is disabled. Analytics is enabled by default; you can turn it off in Profile → Settings → Usage analytics. Turning it off discards unsent events; turning it back on uses a new ID. Previously sent data is not automatically deleted.
Device and notifications
The server receives a random installation ID, device model, iOS or Android version, app version, last activity and notification permission. If you allow notifications, a push token is also sent to deliver messages. This data is used to count installations and show relevant messages.
License status and progress
The steps you mark as completed are stored on your phone and are not sent to the server. If you optionally report whether you have obtained a Korean driving license, that status is linked to the app installation and stored on the server. Administrators can see it in device details and aggregate counts. You can change or remove your answer in Profile; offline changes are sent on the next connection. We do not ask for a license number, copy, or official exam result.
Public license-holder list
All users can view the license-holder list. Joining is optional: when you enter your chosen name or nickname and tap Join the list, the name is stored on the server and shown publicly. You may also enter how many days it took to obtain your license; this number is stored on the server with your name and shown to everyone. This is a duration you report, not a time calculated by the app. Answering Obtained alone does not publish your name. Leaving the list deletes the name, number of days and public entry; this requires internet access and server confirmation. Changing your license status hides the entry on the next server connection. Installation identifiers and secrets are not shown in the public list. This is a user-reported status, not an official license check.
Message delivery
Push messages are delivered through Expo, Apple and Google for Android. They receive the push token and message content. Read status is stored on the phone. You can revoke permission in phone settings without limiting study features.
Location
With your permission, location is used only to sort nearby test centers. The app does not send it to its backend, store it in progress or track it in the background. You can search centers without permission.
External services
When you open maps, external images, videos or links, those services may receive network request data. Kakao, Naver, YouTube and other sites have their own privacy policies. The app does not collect your contact list, microphone input or personal device name.
Service records
The server also stores a hash of the installation secret, device type and registration timestamps. Message history may include recipient device identifiers and delivery status. Website or API access may produce server logs containing an IP address, request time and browser information. If you contact us by email, your email address and message are used to respond to your enquiry.
Website and your choices
The website stores your language choice in your browser and has no added third-party analytics or advertising trackers. Clear the site data in your browser to remove this preference. Manage notification and location permissions in your phone settings. Clearing practice results in Profile does not delete your server-side device record.
Retention and requests
Device and message-delivery records on the server are not automatically deleted when you uninstall the app; they currently have no automatic expiry. They are retained to deliver messages, operate the service and investigate faults. Send deletion or data enquiries to support@getungo.app. We may request information needed to identify the relevant record; do not send passwords. Requests are reviewed manually. If a legal retention obligation applies, we will explain the reason and duration.
Server statistics update: 10 October 2026
Country estimates and activity statistics
The backend estimates the country of a connection from its IP address using a local DB-IP database. This estimate may be inaccurate, especially when a VPN or proxy is used. It is not GPS location or nationality. The country code, first and last connection times, and daily activity records are used for device statistics in the admin panel. IP addresses are not added to device profiles or sent to a geolocation provider; existing server access logs may still contain IP addresses. Daily activity records expire after 90 days and are removed by the database's automatic cleanup. This expiry does not apply to the existing device and message records described above. Admins may also save notes and tags on device records. Practice results and message read status remain on the phone.
